Bhojan Foundation (“the Trust”, “we”, “us”) is a non-profit charitable organization committed to transparency, accountability, and ethical use of donations received for charitable food distribution and allied social causes.

This Donation Refund Policy outlines the terms under which donations made to Bhojan Foundation may be eligible for a refund.

1. Nature of Donations

All donations made to Bhojan Foundation are voluntary contributions made without any expectation of goods, services, or benefits in return, except where specifically mandated by law (such as tax receipts).

By making a donation, the donor acknowledges that:

  • Donations are made out of free will.

  • Donations are not payments for services.

  • Donations are generally non-refundable, except in limited circumstances described below.

2. Refund Eligibility

Refunds shall be considered only in exceptional cases, including but not limited to:

  • Duplicate or multiple donations made due to a technical error.

  • Erroneous deduction due to payment gateway malfunction.

  • Unauthorized transaction proven to be caused by third-party misuse (subject to verification).

Refund requests will not be entertained in the following cases:

  • Change of mind or personal reasons after donation.

  • Delay in refund request beyond the permitted time.

  • Donation already allocated or utilized for charitable activities.

  • Donation for which an 80G or other tax exemption certificate has been issued.

  • Donations made knowingly and voluntarily without technical error.

3. Time Limit for Refund Requests

Any request for a refund must be made within 48 hours from the date of donation.

Requests received after this period shall not be considered, irrespective of the reason.

4. Refund Request Procedure

To initiate a refund request, the donor must:

  • Submit a written refund request via the Trust’s official communication channels.

  • Provide valid proof of transaction (payment receipt, bank statement, transaction ID).

  • Submit the request from the same email ID or contact number used at the time of donation.

In cases where a physical receipt has already been issued:

  • The donor must return the original receipt to the Trust’s official address before the refund can be processed.

5. Tax Exemption & Refund Restriction

If a tax exemption receipt (including 80G certificate) has been issued:

  • No refund shall be permitted under any circumstances.

  • The donor agrees that the donation is final and irrevocable.

The Trust shall not be responsible for:

  • Errors in the donor’s tax filings.

  • Misuse of tax receipts by the donor.

6. Refund Processing

  • Approved refunds will be processed only to the original mode of payment.

  • No cash refunds shall be issued.

  • Processing timelines may vary depending on banks, payment gateways, and card issuers.

  • Bhojan Foundation shall not be liable for delays caused by third-party financial institutions.

7. Right to Reject Refund Requests

  • Bhojan Foundation reserves the absolute right to:

    • Accept or reject any refund request after internal review.

    • Request additional documents or verification if deemed necessary.

    • Treat its decision as final and binding.

8. Fraud, Chargebacks & Misuse

  • Any fraudulent refund claim or chargeback without prior communication may lead to legal action.

  • The Trust reserves the right to report suspicious activities to banks, payment gateways, or legal authorities.

  • Repeated misuse may result in permanent restriction from future donations.

9. Force Majeure

  • The Trust shall not be held liable for delays or failure in processing refunds due to events beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to:

    • Natural disasters

    • Government restrictions

    • Banking system failures

    • Technical outages

10. Grievance Redressal

Escalation, if required, shall be handled internally as per Trust governance norms.

11. Governing Law & Jurisdiction

This policy shall be governed and interpreted in accordance with the laws of India.

All disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of courts located in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh.

12. Policy Amendments

Bhojan Foundation reserves the right to amend or update this policy at any time to comply with legal, regulatory, or operational requirements.

Updates shall become effective immediately upon publication.
